2018年7月、お陰様でライブ復帰することができました。
いまだに信じられない思いですが、現在、より深く音楽と関わり、新たなスタート地点に立てたこと、とても幸せに思います。
これからは、私が本当に「聴いていたい音楽」を目指し進んでいきたいと思います。

福岡県出身。4歳の頃よりピアノのレッスンを始め、後にバロック及び現代音楽に関心を持つようになる。
東京音楽大学ピアノ科にて鈴木恭代氏、弘中孝氏に師事、その頃よりJazz Improvisation（即興）、Composition（作曲）に興味を持つ。また、指揮法を山本直純氏、森正氏に師事、そして作曲家・三枝成彰氏のアンサンブルレッスンの専属ピアニストを務め、更に音楽表現の幅を広げる事となる。
卒業後、ジャズピアノを辛島文雄氏に師事、 ジャズライブハウス、ジャズクラブ等を活動の場として、自己のTRIOを結成し、オリジナル曲を中心に活動を開始する。
当時、渋谷オーケストラ、じゃがたら、上々颱風、生活向上委員会大管弦楽団等で活躍中の吉田哲治（tp）氏率いる吉田quartet、FIVESに参加。
quartet、FIVESでの共演ミュージシャンは古澤良治郎、外山明、村上ポンタ秀一、吉野弘志、早川岳晴、山元恭介、伊藤啓太、石渡明廣、向井滋春etc.多数。
その後今泉裕（ss）カルテットに参加する。メンバー津村和彦、永田利樹、望月英明、佐野康夫、藤井信雄etc.
その他、画家・内田美代子氏、振付家・荒家まゆみ氏等とのコラボレーションでも、豊かな感性が生み出す、透明感のある独特な音世界を作り出している。またＣＭ音楽、子供のための英会話ＣＤなどの作曲・編曲・ピアニストとしてレコーディングに参加。
テレビCMに関しては、ピアニスト・作曲家として、かんぽ生命、三菱自動車、伊藤園のお茶、ペヤングソース焼きそば、永谷園他、
ヴィクトリア、ウゴウゴルーガ、佐渡汽船、栃木国体、NEC、マルイ等、他多数のCM音楽に関わる。
ジャパン・タイムズ発行Japan's Best Loved Songs of the season vol.2 においても、アレンジャー及びピアニストとして（全8曲）レコーディングに携わる。

2001年、待望のファーストアルバム『LITTLE THINGS』をリリース。
長年のメンバーである吉野弘志氏（b）、堀越彰氏（ds）とのレコーディングは彼女の音の世界が見事に表現されているとの評を得る。
その後、対・ピアノ(フォルテ)という楽器、また自己の音楽の可能性を追求すべく、ジャズ・フィールドのみならず、多様な演奏家とのセッションにも参加。音楽全般を通して「瑞々しさ」をモットーとする。
2005年に鈴木徹大（gt）とのDuo『LITTLE THINGSⅡ』を発表。 2008年より同Duo＜B・B・STREEP＞を軸としてトリオ、カルテット、クインテットでの活動も始動。共演ミュージシャンは、伊藤啓太、加藤真一、藤井信雄、小山彰太、角田健、青木タイセイetc.
著書に「クラシック・イン・ジャズ」2巻・3巻（共著）があり、「コンテンポラリー・ジャズピアノ」3巻（中央アート出版）にも協力している。
2012年初頭、右手に経験したことのない違和感を覚える。
同年、難病「音楽家のジストニア」Musician's Dystoniaと診断されるも、様々治療とリハビリにより70％程の回復が見られ。2018年7月LIVE復帰。

Yoko Kobayashi Profile
Born in Fukuoka Prefecture. She began piano lessons at the age of four and later developed an interest in baroque and contemporary music. She studied under Yasuyo Suzuki and Takashi Hironaka at the Tokyo College of Music, where she developed an interest in jazz improvisation and composition.
She also studied conducting under Naozumi Yamamoto and Tadashi Mori, and served as the exclusive pianist for composer Shigeaki Saegusa's ensemble lessons, further broadening her musical horizons.
After graduating, she studied jazz piano under Fumio Karashima. She formed her own trio, performing at jazz live music venues and jazz clubs, focusing on original compositions.
At that time, she joined the Yoshida Quartet and FIVES, led by Tetsuji Yoshida (tp), who is active in the Shibuya Orchestra, Jagatara, Shan Shan Taifu, and the Seikatsu Koyo Iinkai Grand Orchestra.
With the quartet FIVES, he has performed with many musicians, including Ryojiro Furusawa, Akira Sotoyama, Shuichi Ponta Shuichi, Hiroshi Yoshino, Takeharu Hayakawa, Kyosuke Yamamoto, Keita Ito, Akihiro Ishiwatari, Shigeharu Mukai, and many others.
He later joined the Yutaka Imaizumi (soprano sax) Quartet. Members include Kazuhiko Tsumura, Toshiki Nagata, Hideaki Mochizuki, Yasuo Sano, Nobuo Fujii, and others.
In collaborations with artists such as painter Miyoko Uchida and choreographer Mayumi Araie, she has created a unique, crystalline soundscape born from her rich sensibility.
She has also participated in recordings as a composer, arranger, and pianist for commercial music and children's English conversation CDs.
As a pianist and composer, she has worked on numerous television commercials, including those for Japan Post Insurance, Mitsubishi Motors, Ito En Tea, Peyoung Yakisoba Sauce, Nagatanien, Victoria, Ugo Ugo Ruga, Sado Kisen, Tochigi National Sports Festival, NEC, Marui, and many others.
She also participated in the recording of eight songs (all as arranger and pianist) for Japan Times's "Japan's Best Loved Songs of the Season Vol. 2."
In 2001, she released her long-awaited first album, "LITTLE THINGS." Her recordings with longtime members Hiroshi Yoshino (bass) and Akira Horikoshi (drums) were highly praised for their beautiful expression of her musical world.
Since then, she has pursued the possibilities of the piano (forte) and her own musicality, participating in sessions with a variety of performers, not just in the jazz field. Her motto is "freshness" throughout his music.
In 2005, he released the duo "LITTLE THINGS II" with guitarist Tetsuo Suzuki. Since 2008, he has also performed with trios, quartets, and quintets, centered around the duo "B.B. STREEP."
Her collaborators include Keita Ito, Shinichi Kato, Nobuo Fujii, Shota Koyama, Ken Tsunoda, and Taisei Aoki, among others.
She is the co-author of volumes 2 and 3 of "Classic in Jazz," and contributed to volume 3 of "Contemporary Jazz Piano" (Chuo Art Publishing).
In early 2012, she experienced an unprecedented discomfort in her right hand. That same year, she was diagnosed with the incurable disease "Musician's Dystonia." However, through various treatments and rehabilitation, she has shown approximately 70% recovery. He returned to live performances in July 2018.
September of the same year, The Third Tribe (Yoko Kobayashi, pianist; Kazumi Ikenaga, drums; piano & drums duo) The Third Tribe was launched.

April 2020 Tone Momentum / Kenta Tsugami as Yoko Kobayashi, pianist, launched. Due to the first wave of COVID-19, their first live concert was canceled across Japan, resulting in their first live concert being streamed without an audience.
